Every feature in Nought
A native Mac spreadsheet with 200+ formulas, 23 chart types, full formatting, and real .xlsx support. Here is everything it can do.

23 chart types
Insert from the toolbar with a live preview. Seventeen of the twenty-three types round-trip through .xlsx as standard OOXML charts; the six Excel stores in its newer chartex format save as the closest classic equivalent. All twenty-three render in PDF export, and any chart can be exported on its own as PNG or SVG. Interactive tooltips on hover.

Bar / Column
Vertical and horizontal bar charts for comparing categories. Supports stacked and grouped layouts.
Line
Connect data points over time or ordered categories. Multiple series with distinct colors.
Pie
Show proportional distribution of a single data series. Labels with percentages.
Area
Like line charts with filled regions beneath. Good for showing volume over time.
Scatter
Plot X-Y data points to reveal correlations. Supports trendlines: linear, exponential, logarithmic, power, polynomial, and moving average.
Combo
Mix bar and line series in a single chart. Useful for comparing metrics on different scales.
Waterfall
Show how an initial value is affected by sequential positive and negative changes.
Stacked Bar
Stack multiple series within each bar to show composition alongside the total.
100% Stacked
Stack series to fill the full height, showing each one's share of the whole.
Donut
A pie chart with the centre removed. Proportional distribution, with room for a total in the middle.
Horizontal Bar
Bars run left to right, so long category labels stay readable instead of being truncated or rotated.
Stacked Area
Series stacked to show both the parts and the total over time.
100% Stacked Area
Every point normalised to 100%, for composition rather than magnitude.
Bubble
Scatter where the symbol area carries a third dimension.
Step Line
Values hold until they change. For rates, stock levels and headcount.
Radar
Multi-axis comparison on a polar grid. Drawn natively and saved as a standard radar chart.
Stock
High, low and close on a single mark, for price and range data.
Treemap
Nested rectangles sized by value. Squarified packing keeps the shapes close to square and readable.
Sunburst
The same hierarchy as a treemap, drawn as radial rings.
Histogram
Automatic binning to show the shape of a distribution.
Pareto
Histogram plus a cumulative line, for the 80/20 view.
Box & Whisker
Quartiles, median and outliers for comparing distributions at a glance.
Funnel
Centred bars narrowing through the stages of a process.
Data tools
Sort, filter, validate, and analyze your data without leaving the app.

Sort
Single-column quick sort plus a multi-level Sort dialog with a key for every column. Sort by values, cell colour, or font colour; by custom lists (months, weekdays, or your own); chronologically for dates and naturally for text. Respects active filters, and can sort left to right.
Auto-filter
Per-column dropdown arrows in the header row. Check or uncheck values to filter the visible rows instantly.
Conditional formatting
17 rule types: greater than, less than, between, equal to, text contains, top N, duplicates, color scales (2-color and 3-color), and data bars.
Data validation
Restrict cell input to whole numbers, decimals, dates, text length, or a dropdown list. In-cell dropdown arrow for list validation.
Named ranges
Define names for cell ranges and use them in formulas. Workbook or sheet scope. Name Manager dialog for editing.
Find and replace
Search across all cells with options for case sensitivity, whole-cell matching, and formula search. Replace one at a time or all at once.
Remove duplicates
Select which columns to check and remove rows with duplicate values.
Text to columns
Split a single column into multiple columns using a delimiter (comma, tab, semicolon, space, or custom).
Solver
Optimise a target cell by changing several inputs at once, subject to constraints.
Scenario Manager
Save named sets of input values and switch between them to compare outcomes.
Data consolidation
Combine ranges from several sheets into one summary by position or by category.
Sheet and workbook protection
Lock a sheet's cells, or lock the workbook structure so sheets cannot be added, deleted or reordered.
Format painter
Copy formatting from one cell or range and brush it onto another.
Macros
Automate repetitive work with JavaScript, from a built-in macro editor.
Goal Seek
Find the input value needed to reach a target result in a formula.
Subtotals
Insert automatic subtotal rows grouped by a column, with SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, MIN, or MAX.
Pivot tables
Nest several fields down the rows and across the columns, use more than one value field at once, filter any field, group dates by month or quarter, and show a value as a percentage of the total or as a running total. Pivots refresh when the source data changes, and save into .xlsx as a real pivot cache that Excel opens.
Sparklines
Tiny charts rendered inside a cell. Line and bar types. Configure data range and placement.
Formatting
Full cell formatting with undo support for every action.
